Chocolate Chip Cookies Stuffed with Peppermint Patties

In honor of Peppermint Patty and the new Peanuts movie hitting theaters, I created these Peppermint Pattie Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies—an easy, crowd-pleasing treat that’s perfect for movie nights and holiday gatherings.

Peppermint Pattie Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

These cookies were a huge hit at my house. They’re simple to make and deliver a delightful surprise: a gooey mint center wrapped in classic chocolate chip cookie dough. The idea is straightforward, but I refined the method after the first attempt so the filling stays sealed inside and the cookies bake perfectly.

I don’t usually take many step-by-step photos, but these turned out so cute lined up on a tray I snapped a few with my phone to share. For the filling, you can use mini York Peppermint Patties, Junior Mints, or similar mint-chocolate candies. I often keep Junior Mints on hand because some varieties are dairy-free, but the recipe shown here is not allergy friendly as written—however, it can be adapted if needed.

One afternoon I made a batch while the kids were at school, and by bedtime every last cookie was gone. They disappear fast—plan to make extras if you want leftovers.

These stuffed chocolate chip cookies combine classic cookie dough with a mint-chocolate center for a festive, indulgent treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 package refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
  • 1 box of Junior Mints or mini peppermint patties (small box works well)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the directions on the cookie dough package.
  2. Divide the cookie dough into 24 equal portions. Place 12 dough balls on a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment or lightly sprayed with nonstick spray.
  3. Place one Junior Mint or similar candy in the center of each dough ball. Top with a second dough portion and gently press the edges together to fully enclose the candy. Be sure the seam is well sealed so the filling does not leak during baking.
  4. Bake 12–15 minutes or until cookies are lightly golden around the edges. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.
  5. Optional: Melt a few extra Junior Mints in a small microwave-safe bowl for 20–30 seconds, stir until smooth, and drizzle over cooled cookies for added shine and mint flavor.
